TOSHIBA JOINS GROWING LIST OF MANUFACTURERS BACKING REFCOM ELITE

REFCOM has welcomed the announcement that Toshiba Air Conditioning have raised the bar in the awarding of their top-tier warranty scheme to insist on the contractor being a REFCOM Elite registered company.

REFCOM Elite is a voluntary best practice company registration scheme that has been running since 1994 to promote environmentally responsible refrigerant management and compliance with the latest industry legislation.

Toshiba Air Conditioning have joined a growing list of manufacturers seeking to ensure that only fully competent professionals install and maintain their technically advanced equipment to maintain the high levels of efficiency and environmental performance available from their equipment.

Toshiba’s Technical Director Neil Wooldridge said: “Toshiba’s warranty is based on a commitment to continuous training rather than purchasing power. It is our policy to raise standards where possible within the industry in order to improve equipment reliability, reduce warranty claims, reduce climate impact and improve the end user experience.”

“We are therefore pleased to be endorsing the REFCOM Elite standard as a means of independently verifying technical competence and environmental responsibility of those customers entitled to our T7e warranty scheme.”

Head of REFCOM Graeme Fox said: “We hear of too many operators who are not fully qualified to do the job. The wider industry is increasingly insisting on proof of competence both as a measure of how the standards in the sector are rising, and also in preparation for the widely expected changes to the building regulations post-Hackett.”

“We’re delighted to see manufacturers like Toshiba showing great corporate responsibility by ensuring that they only accept contractors who demonstrate the highest benchmark of competence and environmental standards – that only a REFCOM Elite member company can provide.”
