The UK’s primary F-Gas register REFCOM has been honoured for its work in supporting the industry through the Covid emergency.
It was named the first ever winner of the ‘Covid Frontline Achievement Award’ in this year’s RAC Cooling Industry Awards at the Grosvenor House hotel in London.
This new category was created to pay tribute to those organisations and individuals who made a special effort to help the sector deal with the extraordinary challenges created by the pandemic.
REFCOM and its parent company BESA moved swiftly to position itself as a go to point of contact for business and technical information from the very start of the pandemic. It also brought the sector together around a series of online events and fostered a sense of community that helped individuals and businesses deal with the crisis.
The judges praised REFCOM’s staff for moving swiftly to provide timely guidance and support – both technical and emotional – and for making sure vital resources remained available throughout the lockdown periods so cooling sector businesses were able to keep operating as smoothly as possible.
