Updated 16:00 6 September.
There's been a lot in the news recently about lower flammability refrigerants in response to HFC phasedown. We've produced our latest technical bulletin to help clear up some of the facts.
We'd like to thank FETA for the use of their 'Guide to A2L Refrigerants', which can be found as an appendix to this bulletin.
The objective of this technical bulletin is to advise on the changes to working practices required when working with the new generation of A2L refrigerants replacing the higher Global Warming Potential (GWP) HFC gases that are currently the industry norm. A2L is a new safety classification from ASHRAE denoting lower flammability, sometimes referred to as “mildly flammable”. They generally have a much lower GWP than current common HFC gases.
You can download the bulletin here.
