About Kevin

Kevin leads the technical team at BESA Group, which includes REFCOM. This involves representing BESA and REFCOM members in UK and international forums, such as BESA’s RACHP Group, ACRIB, GCP Europe and AREA. This ensures we are at the first to know about emerging issues in the sector, which we share with members, and at forefront of developing standards.

Kevin assists the REFCOM team in dealing with REFCOM technical queries and monitors them to identify recurring themes and technical issues that require further action, raising with the regulatory authorities, or additional guidance.

Kevin brings to the role, over three decades, real world experience in the building services sector, so is acutely aware of the issues contractors face in terms of maintaining a profitable business, managing and developing resources, and dealing with evolving regulations, standards and technologies.Expertise and Experience

• 36 years of experience working in various roles in the Building Services sector. I have led the technical design and construction of engineering services projects across industrial commercial, public sector and residential sectors.
• Kevin is a member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) and an Incorporated Engineer (IEng).
• Kevin has a broad range of knowledge and experience across various areas of the building services sector, from heating, cooling, AC, ventilation, plumbing, controls etc.
• Kevin joined BESA's Technical Committee in 2019 and served as chair for two years from 2023 until taking the role of Director of Technical.

Outside of Work

Over the years I have held several long-term volunteering roles, including as school governor, pension fund trustee, and committee member of a local community group, but these days I mainly combine volunteering with another one of my hobbies as a Parkrun Volunteer and coordinator.
