NEW FINES PROPOSED FOR F GAS VIOLATIONS

Monday, October 30, 2017

New fines of up-to £200,000 could be in place for individuals and companies who breach F gas regulations.

DEFRA have opened a consultation to gather views on the proposal to introduce the penalties from April 2018.  According to the Cooling Post, four groups of penalty are proposed ranging in scale from £1,000 to £200,000 based on the seriousness of the infringement and the size of the business.

As a certification scheme, we are proud to work alongside the DEFRA to make sure F gas regulations work for our industry, and continue to drive up standards. During a recent meeting with DEFRA we discussed the breaches of F gas regulations and we’re glad to see that both our and our members’ voices have been heard.
