REFCOM LAUNCHES POWERFUL NEW SOFTWARE PLATFORM

Wednesday, January 31, 2018

Specially designed software to help refrigeration and air conditioning contractors manage their projects and track refrigerant usage is available to Refcom members.

Launched during the HVACR Show at London’s Excel exhibition centre, this versatile new software platform is also designed to make it easier for firms to remain compliant with F Gas Regulations, which continue to tighten every year.

Refcom, which is managed by the Building Engineering Services Association (BESA), is the UK’s largest F gas register for the refrigeration and air conditioning sectors. It works with the Environment Agency to ensure the F Gas Regulations are properly enforced and refrigerant reclamation carried out and now accounts for more than 80% of mandatory company certificates covering the UK refrigerant handling market.

Every Refcom member will automatically be able to claim one free user licence to use the new software, which has been developed in partnership with the specialist job management software firm Joblogic.

The member offer represents a considerable free of charge enhancement for Refcom registered firms with the package value totalling more than the three-year cost of F gas certification fees (savings of £30 a month).

Obligations

The software includes features for tracking individual refrigerant bottles; automated logbook record keeping; detailed data analysis; and storage of service records and certificates. The Joblogic system also automatically generates customer records; all of which enables full reporting and recording of F gas related work to help firms meet their obligations for audits and inspections.

“Refcom is delighted to be working with Joblogic to deliver a package that helps contractors meet all of their F gas obligations while using a system that is designed to make the scheduling and record keeping of works as simple as possible,” said Head of Refcom Graeme Fox.

“Regulatory compliance is an administrative burden on any business and we are committed to making this a simple process for all of our registered contractors.”

Joblogic CEO James Whatmore said his firm was excited to be working with Refcom and explained that the main aim was to “improve efficiency for contractors and to help them to grow their businesses”.

“This means that we need to do everything we can to relieve the administrative burden on the contractor’s back office,” he added.

F gas data is captured by Joblogic’s system every time an engineer uses the software in the field. This will give contractors all the reporting and analysis they need “at the click of a button”.

“With our expertise in software development and Refcom’s knowledge of F gas, we can provide contractors with a world class system that, not only saves time and increases efficiency, but also ensures compliance,” said Mr Whatmore.

This software upgrade follows Refcom’s launch of a simplified process for checking company registrations last year via a new search facility on its website (www.refcom.org.uk) that allows suppliers to check customers’ credentials by both company name and/or F gas certificate number.
