Moving from Interim to Full Certification

Welcome to the December edition of Refcom's newsletter. 

This issue focuses on preparing businesses for Full company certification by 4th July 2011.  To help us understand how far advanced Refcom Interim certificated businesses are in moving to Full certification we should be grateful if you would take a few minutes of your time to complete our on-line survey

F-Gas Regulations - Implementation and Enforcement

As well as offering guidance to all organisations covered by the F Gas Regulations, F Gas Support has provided technical support to industry and training for regulators.  The emphasis of this activity over the next few months is increasingly going to be on the "ramping up" of regulator based activities according to DEFRA.  The more intensive programme of inspection activities will be carried out by both relevant councils and the EA.  This new emphasis means that regulators will be able to reach a much wider range of companies.  Another initiative will also target specifically Stationary Refrigeration and Air Conditioning contractors who have a significant influence on the many end users of F gases. Read more

F Gas re-training and you............

SummitSkills in association with ACRIB have produced a flyer on F Gas re-training.  The leaflet answers some basic questions about re-training and assessment required by the F Gas Regulations, and is aimed at both operatives and employers. Download flyer

1000th Student with F Gas Pass

The Ellis Training team is celebrating the success of its 1000th candidiate to pass the City & Guilds 2079 F Gas qualification.  Ellis Training is the country's largest training and assessment centre for the F Gas qualification which all refrigeration and air-conditioning engineers must pass by July 2011 to continue working legally.  The looming deadline has meant there has been a surge in candidates wishing to train and on Friday, 19th November Bob Moody, of Mastercool, learned that not only had he passed but that he was the company's 1000th student.
